Merging lanes safely
This video shows how to merge and change lanes safely.
Indicate with enough time to warn others
Use your indicator to show you want to change lanes or turn.
You need to show other road users your intent to change lanes.
You must indicate for at least five seconds when leaving the side of the road.
Giving way when changing lanes
When you want to change lanes, you must give way to vehicles already in that lane or line of traffic.
You must also give way when you cross over any lines that show the lane is ending and you need to merge into traffic.
